On Mulching Your Notifications

A layer of quiet over the roots. Not silence — cover.

Mulch keeps the soil from panicking every time the weather changes. Notifications are weather.

You do not owe the red dot a harvest. You owe the work under it a climate that does not spike every twelve minutes. Mute the beds that only grow urgency. Leave the ones that grow actual people.

I keep sound on for two names and off for the rest of the county. This is not discipline. This is zoning.

If someone needs you urgently they will find a more analog tool: a call, a knock, a rumor. Everything else can compost until late light.
